Other artists and the Seiler effect.

It's great that there are so many friendly guys and gals out there who not only share their art via Blog posts, etc, but also offer advice and tutorials. I keep thumbing through Jason Seiler's 2008-2009 book amazed that you can't tell the "digi" caricatures from the traditionallly painted ones. I keep referring to his tutorial within the book and i now have a more defined and refined work flow regarding my own art.

I have also learnt about other artists out there and have come to realise that Mr Seiler must have been put on this earth by some God-like being to spread the good word of the Art-Lord. He is to me an un-paid teacher who helps in more ways that he realises and i am amongst so many greatful students.

If i have failed to add anyone on my Blog-List of great artists please hit me up and say hi :-)

House...

Yet another House caricature. I tried to get a good likeness as opposed to others i have seen. Nico Di Mattias' is the best i have seen for likeness and didn't rely on any props.

I also followed Jason Seilers' tutorial from his excellent book to sculpt my caricature more. Hopefully the more i paint the better i will get with his guidence.

My art...

I'm taking a little time to reflect. Look at my work flow, review my goals, work on my techniques. It's funny how you can dabble in different brushes, apps, and textures, still ending up reverting to basics and finding that simplicity speaks volumes. I have learnt that suggesting detail is better than painstakingly brushing in every minute speck you might think should be there in a painting.

It's important to be honest with your self regarding how you rate your art. Should you rate yourself? I rate myself in how i reach my goals. I think of myself as always improving and the route i took in making those improvements. There are no shortcuts. I will hopefully post some work on here after an important event in my art's life which will take place soon , i hope.
